I've been looking for a custom bow holder for awhile now but I'm far to cheap to pay $30-$50 for one. So, i decided to make one myself. Here's how...
What you'll need
-A plaque of some sorts (I bought mine at walmart for $3.xx)
-Paint
-Scrapbook paper (make sure it's card stock and not a thin piece of paper)
-Modge podge (or something similar)
-A paint brush
-Ribbon (I'd suggest using two different ribbons to make it thick enough for all types of clips to hold onto).
-Chipboard letters (really you could use anything)
-Decorative touch for the bottom of the ribbon. (I used wooden stars)
-Hot glue gun
Directions
-Trace the shape of the plaque onto the scrapbook paper and cut it out. The paper should now be the same shape and size as the plaque
-Paint the plaque and the stars
-Coat the top of the plaque with the Modge Podge and adhere the scrapbook paper
-Use Modge Podge to add the chipboard letters
-Cut the ribbon to the length you'd like and use a hot glue gun to glue the two ribbons together.
-Use the glue gun to glue the ribbon to the back of the plaque
-Glue the stars to the bottom of the ribbon with the glue gun.
Ta-Daa! Your done!
I did take pictures showing every step but I seem to have lost them. Sorry
I hope I explained that clearly if not let me know and if you happen to make one send me a picture.
Here's the final product. I think it will look nice in her sage green room.
I tried adding some ribbon for a little extra pazazz but the colors competed to much and it made it a little to busy. It might work with a different paper or plaque though.
